NG LI -installation. Three posters, flag and neon lights. 1991. The work was first exhibited at the Retretti Art Center in 1991 and then in Vanhan Gallery Helsinki.
The posters tell an ambivalent story about the Finnish and Chinese immigrants and the otherness. The NG LI -logo has a double meaning. It refers both to a shipping company that transported the migrants from Finland to Sweden and to a descendent of chines migrants in San Francisco as well. In the two posters on the right and left there is printed an iconic photography of the Tiananmen Square protests and massacre in Beijing 1989.
